Local partners: Mr Andrew Brown and the Supervision Committee of Deak Kum Pa Orphanage
At the time, this orphanage was home to over 500 children, ranging from around seven to around 18 years of age. Due to a lack of resources, the orphanage had not been able to cater for younger children, though there were many orphaned children under age seven in the local community who may have been at risk of exploitation, and for whom the orphanage & residential school could offer a safer and healthier environment.
